Baby Quilts

i love making baby quilts.  there is something about the hope that comes with a new baby that I feel even in making the quilt.  as i'm working in it i can't help but wonder- will they be shy and quiet or a baby that never sits down, will they look like one of their parents, or a mix of both.

pink and green chevron

my cousin and his wife had a second baby girl at the end of last year.  this one was for her.  for a little one chevron is great.  i used half square triangles to make this one.

the second baby quilt was one for a friend- for her niece.  her room is purple and green so she wanted to stay with those colors.  the pattern is a square in a square.   i used what some call the stack and whack method.  my friend wanted the babies name embroidered on the back.  i hadn't done any embroidery in a bit.  it was a lot of fun to refresh those skills.  these days with the internet there are so many fonts available to you it's hard to choose.

i keep hoping someone else will have a baby so I can make another -
